Pissing on the “American Dream”; Where is “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness”?

I will have to award Barack Obama some credit for, at the very least, presenting an understanding front when addressing the far-left attacks on Bristol Palin and Trigg Palin. Now, I wouldn’t support an attack on Obama’s children, matter of fact, I admire them in that they will have, at the very least, an interesting childhood, but that doesn’t mean Michelle is immune to criticism, especially when she is campaigning for her husband. Who can forget when she finally announced she was proud of her country? And yes Barack, I WILL question you and your wife’s patriotism. On that note, I would like to discuss something I find very upsetting, the dismantling of the “American Dream”.

Now what do I mean? Well at first it didn’t even hit me, not until I read ABC’s report on how Cindy McCain was offended by Barack’s speech. Not knowing how many homes he has? Why does that even matter? I honestly believe John McCain’s take on this whole situation, take a look at what he said in an interview with Katie Couric following this attack…

Cindy’s father barely finished high school and went off (to war)… and came back with practically nothing and realized the “American Dream”…

Yes, that is the “American Dream”, to take a chance, to sell off almost everything they had and put it into a company which took off and guaranteed that his family would live well for the rest of their days. Cindy McCain’s father accomplished what many of us hope we can do one day, to attain our own recognizable level of success. What does Barack Obama think of this “Pursuit of Happiness“? Well this campaign ad speaks volumes to his feelings. Let’s forget that John McCain ISN’T the owner of these houses, his wife is, and let’s also forget that most of those houses are either for Cindy’s family or are investments, and focus on what this attack means. So let me get this straight, we have to praise you on your success, your rise from humble upbringings to star-status, but have to damn someone else on theirs? I guess it isn’t a surprise coming from a self-proclaimed socialist. For those who haven’t, I suggest you read his book, Dreams From My Father, it is something that has got the attention of a few Conservative bloggers. Having got into politics through the socialist/Marxist rallies he attended in late high school, early college, it is no surprise he feels this way. Let me explain…

My time spent in China also taught me the truth behind socialist thought. Marxism, as with Leninism and Maoism, teaches that people should give up materialist desires, that such attachments prevent society from attaining utopia, the “perfect” Communist state. While the theory sounds “credible”, when taking into account that the three phases to Communism demands that the revolutionaries give up power after taking it, the Russian and Chinese Revolutions lead to something entirely different. The “proletariat”, who had nothing, are now the “bourgeois”, and refuse to give up their new found wealth and power. In this, we also see that these hypocrites at the top still demanding that those below follow this belief of non-materialism, telling them that they own everything, and thus nothing, already. Had a few teachers tell me story about how disillusioned students would brag that they owned the college, and that it was a great source of pride to be “important” like that. Still makes me sad to see what they go through…

Anyways, this all doesn’t sound American to me, especially when Barack Obama is saying all this while hoping we ignore that he owns an expensive house in a wealthy neighbourhood. I guess we should also forget that he achieved this with the help of his friend Tony Rezko, a man who has just been convicted on a slew of charges, including political corruption. I guess it only matters what you achieve, not how you achieve it in his eyes, especially considering what favours he had to do for it…

What about the promise of “Liberty”? We NORTH Americans stand by our respective constitutions, guaranteed rights that no one, not even the government, can strip from us. The first that comes to mind is freedom of speech, something Barack Obama doesn’t seem to like anymore. It is all well and good if him and his supporters can say what they want, but not when others do? I am not surprised Michelle Malkin also took a look at this story, she, like Sarah Palin, is a pitbull. Now, this isn’t an allegation, this isn’t something left open for interpretation, this IS Obama’s campaign taking actual action in response to an issue which shines a light on something he doesn’t want any of us to see. Why else would he take so vicious an action to keep this ad from getting around? Problem is, it isn’t his right to do so…

Is this the only freedom he wants to take away from the average American? Well, not according to Laura Ingrham. Say goodbye to the life we lead. In a campaign stop in Oregon, Obama said that Americans can’t continue living the lives they are leading and expect the rest of the world to be okay with it. Excuse me? The Chinese want to be more American (you wold be surprised the questions they will ask an English teacher), same with the rest of the developing world, so don’t tell us that there is something wrong with it. If I want to have a second helping of food, I will. If I want to buy that new movie, you damn well know I will. Why should any of us feel shame for a life we have earned, a life that people around the world envy? Once again, how do you expect us to believe you are patriotic when you just tore down the “American Dream” as being unnecessary and offensive to the world? How we choose to live is our choice, not yours.

UPDATE: Seems the federal government will not do Obama’s dirty work. No matter how much his campaign complains, it is freedom of speech after all, and it is factually accurate. Michelle Malkin has the story.

Finally, let’s discuss the guarantee of “Life”. Life, in this sense, is the promise that we can pursue the life we want without fear of coercion. This is a promise of opportunity, not simply to lead an existence. What does Barack intend to do to guarantee a life of prosperity for the average American? Well, setting aside the facts that Laura Ingrham pointed out, he wants to raise taxes. With less money, that life the average American wants to lead is now one more step further away. With the economy the way it is, how can you expect to fix it by raising taxes and increasing government spending? “Economics 101″ Senator Obama, only through investing (large purchases like homes, buying luxury items like cars, etc) in the economy, with their “disposable income”, extra money you want to take from them, can this country get back on the right track. Americans don’t want to live a life in debt, and that is what you are promising them.

How about safety and security? Can you really trust someone who is friends with William “Billy” Ayers? Since 1995, these two have worked together on various projects, as Ayers himself puts it, to forward his own agenda, and agenda he has claimed hasn’t changed since his days leading the Weathermen. So much for “community organizing”, especially when it means recruiting people to continue this radical cause. You don’t preserve the safety and security of the average American at home by not only forgiving the actions of anti-American domestic terrorists, but to actually support them the way he did in the past through “community organizing” (one word, Woodland).

How about securing American safety and security abroad? Well he can’t even make up his mind on whether or not Iran is a threat to the USA and the rest of the world. Well he doesn’t know where they stand, but has admitted that he will meet with them without preconditions. Not just Iran though, a list of “lovable rogues:, including Hamas and Hezbollah. Well surely he will leave us with the weapons to defend ourselves if negotiations were to breakdown right? WRONG! In case he forgot, we are at war with people who want to kill us, and you can’t fight a war when you don’t have the weapons to do it. Did everyone just forget the 9/11 attacks? With Obama’s support still holding, it seems that way.

While radical Obama supporters would like nothing more then to retreat and surrender, I would rather not have our legal system replaced with SHARIA LAW. After seeing the way his campaign and their supporters attacked Sarah Palin this week, I was surprised to see them whining on Larry King after Palin’s speech hammered Obama’s credibility. Grow a spine Barack! America’s enemies will not be kind either and if you can’t take what the Governor dished out, you are definitely not the person the United States needs standing up to those who would attack us. You can’t waver, you can’t complain about them being “unfair” because, if you do, THEY WIN. Once that happens, you can say goodbye to life as we know it, and that isn’t what the “Founding Fathers” promised the American people.

How can it be, knowing this, that so many Americans are still supporting him? Why are so many willing to throw away the “American Dream” when they complain so avidly that it is the Republicans are limiting their rights? In my opinion, radical thought has survived when it should have been eliminated with the fall of the Berlin Wall. Many beliefs held by Marxists and Leninists continue to thrive since those who practiced and preached these ideologies are now in positions of influence, like teachers who shape the minds of the young and impressionable. As Bill O’Reilly stated in his book, Kids Are Americans Too, this is a problem since children are being indoctrinated by these same people. With Obama leading this mass into the upcoming election, we can only HOPE that the CHANGE he promised isn’t this…

With that said, whether or not he gets elected, which I pray doesn’t happen, he has already proven himself to be incapable of leading the United States of America. In my opinion, this all adds up to one thing, that Barack Obama has been pissing on the “American Dream”, and that is about as unpatriotic as anyone can get…
