<description>[...] This is the danger of the far-left, an angry fringe which needs to be appeased at times to prevent such a rash political rebellion. A vote for a social program, additional school funding helps turn this tide and break their ranks enough to weaken their overall impact on any election. In Canada, the multiple party system we have also divides their vote enough that even in times of political uncertainty which usually allows for a swing towards the far-left. Take the last federal election in my country when the Green Party was thrusted upon the national stage. With environment being a major issue for many campaigns, these radicals couldn&#8217;t decide whether they wanted to vote NDP or the Green Party, and while the New Democrats did gain ground, the could have gained more. For those not familiar with Canadian politics, do not confuse the Democratic Party with the New Democratic Party, there is a difference, but you wouldn&#8217;t know it with Barack Obama copying NDP Leader Jack Layton&#8217;s speech.
