Reality Check; Martin Luther King Jr was a Republican and more…
October 9, 2008
I turn on CNN and see Ander Cooper discussing how these attacks on Barack Obama’s friendship with Ayers and the radical left in Chicago (look up The New Party, he isn’t simply a friend of radicals, HE IS ONE) are racist, an assertion the AP is desperately trying to push. They also like to push this claim that the Republicans are racist, and that they were the ones keeping “the Brother down” all these years. That is why Martin Luther King Jr was a Republican… Wait, by that logic, shouldn’t he be a Democrat? Okay confused listen closely, people like Spike Lee, Danny Glover, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs are all hypocrites because they are supporting the party which actually fought against their rights. Yes, you heard me, historically speaking, the Democrats are the ones who were racist…
Let’s start in the Civil War, a war which was arguably fought to end slavery. Abraham Lincoln, the founder of the Republican Party who also happened to be secretly gay (Log Cabin Republicans get their name from Abe’s actions), was at war with the slaves state led by Jefferson Davis, a Democrat and pro-slavery advocate. Davis wanted to secession from the Union States which supported the abolishment of slavery. Let that sink in for a while… Democrats, who have claimed being the people who support the rights of minorities, were actually the ones enslaving them. Democrats actually supported slavery into the Northern states. Let’s go back a few years before this all started. Stephen A. Douglas of Illinois, the Democratic Senate Leader, pushed through the pro-slavery Kansas-Nebraska Act in 1854. This act was designed to undo the restrictions of the Missouri Compromise of 1820 which restricted the slavery in the United States. Conflict between Republicans and Democrats heated up, and only got worse when the “Grand Ole Party” won the 1860 Presidential election. This secession effort all started when Lincoln, once again a Republican and newly elected President, wanted to overturn the slavery laws. He made it THE issue of the Lincoln-Douglas debates of 1858, and now that he had power, he was ready to do something about it. Davis and his supporters were outraged and hostilities began in 1861 when Fort Sumter was attacked by the Confederate forces. Yes, Democrats were also known for answering problems with war (guess that is why Obama is so insistent on attacking Pakistan).
Fast-forward a few years and we now have the United States of America, a land free of slavery. This really upset the defeated Confederates, who were once again Democrats. By 1865, this anger boiled over, and the Ku Klix Klan was born thanks to six Civil War veterans from Pulaski, Tennessee. That is right friends, the Confederates, who were Democrats remember, founded the KKK. I can imagine far-left readers are both very confused and very angry right now, but only slightly more then they are usually. Insult me all you want, but facts are facts, the Democratic Party was behind the formation of one of the worst racist organizations in American history. The opposition the Klan had came from Republicans like William Gannaway Brownlow, who was adamantly supported by former slaves. Their opposition to the Republican Party actually led them to assassinate several members like James M. Hinds, an Arkansas Congressman. These murders were among the earliest recorded acts of domestic terrorism, matter of fact, the KKK is considered the first domestic terrorist organization in America. This allegiance has continued to the present day with politicians like Democratic Senator Robert Byrd, a former Grand Dragon for the Klan (that’s right Roland Martin, he is a member of your party, not McCain’s). This isn’t something you would hear on CNN…
Also during this time we have what are known as the Jim Crow Laws. This also starts in 1865, the creation of laws which would treat the newly freed slaves as separate but “equal” citizens in the United States. During the Reconstruction era, as the Southern States got back on their feet, the Democratic Party regained their political power. The Redeemer governments passed these laws to segregate blacks from the state’s population. We are talking about constitutional amendments which effectively disfranchised the blacks and the poor whites (yes, even those with Hollywood IQs) through a combination of poll taxes, literacy and comprehension tests, and residency and record-keeping requirements. Separate but equal? These laws were designed to keep blacks and the illiterate whites out of the political system, meaning they wanted to keep “the Brothers down” because they knew who they would vote for (that sounds a little like turn of the century voter fraud to me). It got even worse when Progressive Democrats during this era were fighting “voter fraud” by finding new ways to keep blacks and illiterate whites out of the system. On top of that, President Woodrow Wilson, a Democrat, actually brought segregation to federal offices, forcing blacks out of positions of power. How can you trust that party to stick up for you when they have a history of keep you down?
All this segregation lead to the white and black “only” divide. Separate but equal really took a demented twist when there was two of everything, except white and blacks couldn’t share by law. It also got so bad that there were law dictating where blacks would sit on a bus, and we all know where this leads don’t we? Rosa Parks… After a long day of work at the Montgomery Fair department store, Parks, a member of the NAACP (before they were “race card” carrying bigots), just wanted to get home, but she had chosen the wrong seat on the bus to sit in. She was tired, she was a little angry and she wasn’t going to move because some bus driver couldn’t respect common decency. Her actions would not only get her imprisoned, but would attract the attention of the most famous black Republican in American history to stand up and fight for the rights of “coloured” people.
Many seem to forget that Martin Luther King Jr was a member of the “Grand Ole Party”, mostly because you have those like Reverend Al Sharpton who force this “Republicans are racist” rhetoric down the throats of anyone who gives him time to speak, but remember that back them, with the Jim Crow laws, this mentality of “separate but equal” was a creation of the Democratic Party. You aren’t going to be part of a group that is trying to keep you down, and that is why he was a registered Republican. Matter of fact, even after all he did, after being assassinated by James Earl Ray, it was Ronald Reagan who created the bill that made the third Monday in January a day of remembrance. Rep. John Conyers proposed legislation which became a bill in 1979, a time when Jimmy Carter was President, but didn’t pass due to lack of votes. Yes, that is right, even with a Democrat in the White House, legislation to honour King couldn’t pass. Makes you think doesn’t it?
On Youtube, BlackandRight has videos about all this you can watch if you don’t believe me. I know some will even accuse me of being racist for writing this post, but I am sick and tired of having far-left radicals come to me and call myself and other who hold the social and politicals beliefs I do racist. Anderson Cooper, Paul Begala and the rest of CNN can ignore the facts, push the fiction and generally confuse the ignorant all they want, but Americans need to hear straight talk. Barack Obama is the one with the race problems, his twenty years at Trinity United supports this, his book Dreams From My Father also supports this claim (read his thoughts on racial tension in America and “black nationalism” if you don’t believe me), so do go pinning this title to John McCain or Sarah Palin, both of whom are part of mixed families.
This election isn’t about race, it is about the issues, but you wouldn’t know that listening to the MSM or any one of “The One’s” speeches. Just remember that Obama spent TWENTY YEARS listening to Black Liberation theology, a belief which many compare to the manifesto of the Ku Klux Klan. If Mccain or Palin was linked to a group like this, do you really think the MSM would cover it up? Ask yourself, with all you know now, who is really the racist? If after reading all this you still think it is the Republicans, look in the mirror.

um…this post proves nothing…remember there was a federalist party, democratic-republican party, whig party, etc. The label doesn’t mean s***. The parties change their tune with the times/votes.
You sure? Can you provide even one piece of proof for that? When has the Republican Party gone against the rights of minorities? Ronald Reagan passed the legislation which gave MLK a national holiday while President Bush opened up his cabinet to people of all colour. Matter of fact, his 2008 cabinet is the most diverse in history.
Instead of playing identity politics with Obama, Republicans have actually allowed for real advancement. Say something useful or take a hike…
