WARNING SIGNS!
October 28, 2008
Sitting at my flat in Nantong, China I was reading Ann Coulter’s post, Obama’s Dimestore ‘Mein Kampf’, and I was really taken back by what she was saying. I will admit it, Coulter comes off extreme at times, mostly for “shock value”, a humourous if not controversial slant to her work, but she is a very smart woman and always has her facts right. I wasn’t simply going to take her word for it, comparing Obama to Hitler is a powerful statement, and not something anyone should take lightly. In disbelief, I downloaded a copy of his audio book and spent the next two weeks listening to it. After class, after marking, while eat and showering, just before bed, whatever opportunity I had, I took it to listen to his audio book for Dreams From My Father. I will have to say I was shocked.
Hearing about his feelings about “black nationalism”, “hating an oppressive white figure for a sense of black pride”, quoting Malcom X, etc all said to me that this man wasn’t the transformative figure he claimed to be. Barack Obama was simply a new kind of race baiter, a new kind of black politician (not a politician who was black, one who used race to define his position on most issues), forcing his radical views on American through well spoken speeches, television commercials and radio addresses. How don’t we know that future generations will look on this first book like they have on Hitler’s Mein Kampf, and see it as a warning sign of what the United States would be under his rule? This was the point Ann Coulter was trying to make, while extreme, was very well thought out. I didn’t believe, but there I was, sitting in my flat in Nantong just disturbed by the words coming from Obama’s mouth, saying them so candidly that I was dumbstruck…
What we have seen the last few months is no the less than the starting of a “cult of personality” around this man. How is it that so many Americans refuse to see this? The main stream press is being used as a weapon against his critics, the suppression of free speech to his benefit, their is obvious signs of indoctrination of the youth, open discussion of wealth redistribution, the talk of the formation a new civilian military following his election to President, there are socialist realism depictions of Obama being plastered on posters and t-shirts, children being forced to sing his praises… I feel like I am sitting back in my classroom in Nantong, not in a free North America, and it scares me…
Main stream media prejudice – One day during class, I had assigned reading and writing work for my students. They were given twenty minutes to read a massage and hammer out answers, turning to classmates for assistance if necessary. While waiting, I walked down the hall to see a colleague of mine discussing with another teacher what he had read in the China Daily, a nationally syndicated newspaper. He turned to me and said, “you can always tell you are in a socialist country by what you read in their news”, siting as evidence a story about the destruction of a grain silo which, according to the story, was done by the government since “they care about the safety and well being of their people and the country’s environment”. Thinking back to that, I honestly don’t see a difference between it and what is going on now within the MSM.
As Michell Malkin said on Fox & Friends this morning, Obama and Biden are “living in a protective bubble”, refusing to sit down with reporters to answer fair questions. The Barbara West interview is now making it around the blogosphere and into the MSM, no matter the wishes of Obama/Biden campaign, but this shouldn’t be such a big deal. Don’t get me wrong, it is another piece of evidence in the case against the Democratic ticket, but why is it that we haven’t seen reporting like this previously? You have those like Jennifer Loven of the Associated Press who can’t help but swoon over Barack Obama at every opportunity, and those like Brian Williams, Anderson Cooper and Roland Martin attacking everyone who threatens his presidency. Since when did journalistic integrity become something they can put on a self during an election?
We have also seen the other side of this. Journalists are being “politely” threatened by the Obama campaign to maintain “fair and balanced” coverage. Fox New’s Greta Van Susteren is covering this on her blog, reporting on an email sent around by the Obama campaign…

Tiffany Wilson, a student journalist for Palestra wasn’t the only one to receive this email, her friend and colleague Shelby Holliday also found one in her mailbox. This was in reaction to the reports they did on recruitment drive in Ohio, where Obama supporters were rounding up anyone they could find, including homeless, and driving them to polling stations to register and vote. In Missouri, Governor Matt Blunt blasted the Obama campaign for “abusing the justice system and offices of public trust to silence political criticism with threats of prosecution and criminal punishment”. As we see with the Joe Wurzelbacher incident, the Democrats aren’t afraid of using Chicago style politics to villainize those who criticize them. Michael Barone of the National Review stated that the tactics they used were downright criminal, accessing records, like driver’s license and vehicle registration information, which are only available to law enforcement members, not political campaigns and members of the press, to dig up dirt on Wurzelbacher. How is this “fair and balanced”?
UPDATE: The culprit in the information leak has been identified as Helen Jones-Kelly, a Democrat and maxed-out Obama donor. She says that she looked into Joe Wurzelbacher’s records because of his sudden public notoriety, and not for any political reasons (ya right, I believe you… not). I hope she loses her job and is villainized by the MSM the same way Joe Wurzelbacher was… Dare to dream…
UPDATE: Michelle Malkin is now reporting on this. It seems that Helen Joes-Kelly could now be facing criminal charges. OH HAPPY DAY!
If anything, this is a huge warning sign of what is to come under an Obama presidency, something you should only be able to find in socialist countries like China and Venezuela. Once you include the “Fairness Doctrine”, which will all but destroy talk raido, you have the almost entire MSM under Democrat control…
A cult of personality or personality cult arises when a country’s leader uses mass media to create a heroic public image through unquestioning flattery and praise. Cults of personality are often found in dictatorships.
Indoctrination of the youth – I was teaching a class when the topic of Japan was raised by one of my students. While I tried to defend the actions of the Japanese people, stating it was the military leaders who had committed these attrocities against not just the Chinese and Allied forces, but their own people, one young girl became enraged, dismissing what I had said as lies. I had learned quickly to be careful around some of my students, especially those with parents within the Communist Party, since many of them had been indoctrinated, following the “party line” without question. While there had been changes to what the government had preached, many parents and grandparents had taught their children and grandchildren some of the older Maoist beliefs concerning capitalism and foreigners. I actually had to show one of my students my HIV test to prove I wasn’t infected since she had been told by her father on numerous occasions that all foreigners carry the disease. It was just startling at times what I heard from these people…
It is scary that even in America we are starting to see this. Let’s be honest here, we are already seeing this in various forms. Propaganda comes is various forms, and the Obama campaign is following the “Soviet Playbook” for this one. Flopping Aces covered socialist realism art in a story by Wordsmith the other day.
How can Obama supporters not see that there is a link between Barack Obama and socialism/communism/Marxism? The evidence is staring at them, plain as day… That image (Obama Hope) has always disturbed me, like seeing Che Guevara T-shirts around; it clearly looks like socialist realism art, and that’s because it is based on socialist realism art… “Downright creepy in its propagandistic depiction” is how I’d best describe it. And this is aside from what I actually think of Senator Obama’s candidacy… And Senator Obama’s supporters insist that their dear leader has nothing to do with socialist/Marxist leanings, thoughts, beliefs? Next time they tell you that, just point out the Fairey “Hope” button they wear on their lapel, or the one they are sporting as a sticker on their car.
These are the same type of images I saw in China. The colour pattern is very much like that for Soviet art, but many may be naive to it, simply seeing the red, white and blue tones as something akin to American patriotism. Shepard Fairey, the artist behind this art, even admits that his style comes from this Soviet propaganda art, and yet Barack Obama himself urges Fairey to continue his now popular works. Explain to me, for someone not trying to come off as a socialist, why is he applauding and encouraging this kind of Soviet romanticism? You see these painting on campaign button, bumper stickers, even t-shirts, all available through his website’s online store. You are starting to see the effects of this propaganda campaign already…
Little Green Footballs had a report on this this morning in their Obama Campaign Urges Kids to Have ‘The Talk’. Give it a read, it is pretty disturbing. A lot of what is claimed on his ‘The Talk’ website is downright false, much of which I have debunked on previous posts. Read this list of Do’s and Don’ts the campaign has put out for children…
Do share your personal reasons for voting for Barack Obama;
Do have confidence — your opinion matters to people who care about you;
Do read up on Barack’s positions on the issues you know matter to them;
Do find a good time when both you and they will be open to a conversation;
Do talk to them in person if you live nearby, or on the phone if you don’t;
Do ask your friends to talk to their parents and grandparents as well;
Don’t worry about knowing everything about policy positions before you have this conversation;
Don’t feel defensive. Stay calm, cool and collected;
Don’t wait until the last minute — it might take a few conversations for you to convince them, so start as early as possible;
Don’t catch them at a bad time — make sure you have their attention and enough time to have a conversation.
Approaching your parents about who they are voting for can be intimidating if you’ve never talked about politics with them before. But this campaign has been built by supporters sharing their stories about what inspires them and why they want to see change in this country. Here are some ideas for ways you can talk to your parents about why you support Barack:
Call or ask in person if they saw the debate and what they thought about it. Tell them why you are voting for Obama and why it’s important to you.
Print out for them information on some issues you know are important.
Share Barack’s speech from the Democratic National Convention or Meet Barack, a video about who Barack Obama is, where he comes from, and what his values are.
Email them and tell them why it’s important to you that they vote for Obama.
Think about their perspective. If they are Republican, or are concerned about Barack’s policies, think about where they are coming from and what makes them think the way that they do.
The accompanying video is downright disturbing. Youths being pushed into this by adults who should know better. One can’t help but wonder whether or not they were lured into this by the idea of “being part of something bigger then themselves”, that they will be a “part of history”, as many have in the past. In the Sixties especially, there were those who considered themselves now to have been “young and stupid, and didn’t know better”. Academy Award-winning actor John Voight admitted in his Washington Times Op-ed piece that “I was caught up in the hysteria during the Vietnam era, which was brought about through Marxist propaganda underlying the so-called peace movement”. He himself has openly attacked the Democrats for managing a “propaganda campaign with subliminal messages, creating a God-like figure in a man who falls short in every way”, something he has taken considerable criticism for. He is right, one of the few in Hollywood who will not simply accept what is going on, not sitting quietly while his country is hijacked. He has lived what many of these younger people are living now, he knows what it leads to, but no one is paying attention it seems.
We see aggressive campaigns run on campuses across the country to recruit these impressionable youth, to change them into unquestionable followers. What is wrong with this you might ask? Well it is going beyond what many consider acceptable, even targeting those who really shouldn’t be. For example, teachers have even taken to recruiting younger children to support Obama…
How is that acceptable in any situation? Teachers have been voicing their political opinions to a younger and younger audiences, indoctrinating the most impressionable minds to the point where grade schools have become breeding grounds for breeding twisted political opinions. Take Ashley Jones for example, a twelve-year-old girl who was accused of being a racist by her fellow students for wearing a McCain/Palin shirt to school. How can anyone defend this? Why are there people targeting a young girl, why do they have to villainize those who are critical of Barack Obama and Joe Biden? Barbara West is now receiving the same treatment Joe Wurzelbacher had to endure after he questioned Obama on his tax plan. To me at least, it is all part of the “cult of personality” mentality, a sign of indoctrination and their cult-like worship of “The One”…
Indoctrination is the process of inculcating ideas, attitudes, cognitive strategies or a professional methodology. It is often distinguished from education by the fact that the indoctrinated person is expected not to question or critically examine the doctrine they have learned.
Barack’s civilian national security force – My first few days at the Nantong Vocational College has surprised me. Walking around the campus was eye opening, seeing first year students marching in military formation wearing army fatigues. I felt like Danny Devito in Renaissance Man, a civilian teacher working at what appeared to be a military college. In a conversation with one of my colleagues, I asked what all these exercises were about. Having been there for a few years, he has seen this time and time again, telling me that it is supposed to teach them teamwork and help them meet new people. We went on to discuss what this really was, that this training would prepare them for combat if ever the situation arose, to which I stated “they would be no more than “cannon fodder” is a real fight”. Dedication and sacrifice for the good of the country it would seem…
It is nice to know that the teacher behind this was suspended, but it raises serious questions about what America will look like under an Obama presidency. Once again, Flopping Aces covered this story a while back and hinted how eerily similar this was to the Hitler Youth. While the comparison does sound extreme, Mike’s America does make the point that this kind of worship of Obama is very similar to that of the Hitler Youth since it is cult-like adoration for a powerful political figure. Once again, this follows the “Soviet Playbook”, as we have seen with other socialist leaders like Lenin, Stalin, Mao and Castro. As I said in my last post, The last honest reporter, this all reminds me of Nazi Germany’s SA and SS paramilitary groups.
This all comes back to Obama’s “civilian national security force”, something that should be the biggest warning sign of what America would be like under the rule of this man. As he said in Colorado Springs, Colorado, “”People of all ages, stations, and skills will be asked to serve” in a “civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded” as the American military. American Thinker attacked this on the basis of economic cost, as it would double the Department of Defense budget, but I would like challenge their assertion that this wasn’t about forming “a paramilitary force of volunteer brown shirts”, especially since the purpose of this group hasn’t been fully laid out. National security? Will this group take over the responsibilities of the National Guard? Why does such a group need billions in funding? Why do you need to “conscript” American citizens into it? The more and more we hear, the more and more questions we have…
As Joseph Farah pointed out, “there have been initiatives like this elsewhere – Cuba, the Soviet Union, China, Venezuela, North Korea”, all of which are socialist countries. If this is supposed to be an organization meant to deal with the problems faced by the National Guard during Hurricane Katrina and the September 11th attacks, as one could infer from his statement that “We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set”, why does this organization need to be just as large and just as powerful as the United States Armed forces? To me this screams of Nazi Germany, but I could be wrong, the problem is, the Obama campaign isn’t answering questions about this. How don’t we know this isn’t related to what Larry Grathwohl said during his interview for the 1982 documentary, ‘No Place to Hide’?
Well you would need such a large paramilitary force is to prevent a “counter revolution” it would seem. Am I saying that this will happen? Not at all, but just think about it. What is Obama’s intentions for this “civilian national security force”? We don’t know. Why he is being secretive about it? We don’t know. His friendship with Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, his support from Progressive for Obama, a group run by other former Weathermen, his connections to radicals within the black community, including Louis Farrakhan, who has been pushing “black power” for years, etc become terrifying when he is proposing such a military power. It is no surprise that police in cities across the country are preparing for riots on Election day, but why? Are we going to see a repeat of what occurred in Kenya following their 2007 presidential election when Raila Odinga lost? I just don’t know…
*****
Scary as it my seem, I hoping that this at least opens a few eyes to what is going on. I agree with the assertion that Barack Obama is a socialist, he sure sounds like one, and even admitted as much in Dreams From My Father. What we see are warning signs, and very few are listening to them. Many are projecting their hopes on to this candidate of “Hope and Change” when in actuality they really don’t understand what he is capable (or incapable) of accomplishing. Many do project onto him this political “messiah” image, something he definitely can’t live up to, but through his own self-delusion, he allows himself to believe he is this important and historic figure. That is the definition of megalomania…
a symptom of mental illness marked by delusions of greatness, an obsession with doing extravagant or grand things
And yet no one seems to notice or care outside of the right-wing blogosphere. If you dare question him, you are branded a racist, if you dare criticize his political platform, you are branded a racist, if you are not too sure about voting for him, you are once again branded a racist… This all returns to his book, his discussion on the “struggle against white oppression”, something which should be a warning sign of what to be expected from a President Obama. Once again, Ann Coulter hit the nail on the head with this reference, because just like Mein Kampf, his first book should be a good indicator of what to expect from this man if he ever gets power. I encourage people to even give it a glance over if you haven’t decided who you are going to vote for. I even demand those who have chosen to “pull the lever” for “The One” give it a look anyways, see how he is obsessed with race, with the “black struggle”, and then tell me that you want him as Commander-in-Chief.
Historians will always say that Mein Kampf was the warning people the world over, especially in Europe, should have heeded, that if more people had read it, and really understood it, we wouldn’t have had Hitler’s Germany. Well, we are once again at a point in history where America now has to make the same choice… We have his book, we understand what it means, we see his socialist streak, let’s not make the same mistake the Germans made in 1933. The warning signs are there, let’s heed them…
UPDATE: I speak of megalomania and Michelle Malkin reports on Obama’s self-obsession, demanding people to take the day off to vote and get others to vote for him. How can anyone think that their own election is more important than the function of American society? Yet again, another warning sign for anyone who is paying attention…
UPDATE: Cult-like worship of Obama continues. I would honestly like to know how many more of these “anthems” we need to hear before people start realizing this is gone too far? I have to say Glenn Beck’s one is far more accurate…
Posted it below for anyone who can’t access the link…
UPDATE: It isn’t just the registering dead, or the imaginary, but Obama supporters are now pressuring the elderly and developmentally-disabled to vote for Barack. Michelle Malkin has the rest on the story if you want to know more. A new low from a protege of Chicago style politics…
Thank you clancop, but will have to disagree. YOUR post makes mine look as though I did it in crayon…
Again, thank you.
Don’t worry, I used to be like that too. Spent a while with this website and I am starting to learn how things work. You will notice how now I post videos instead of link to them. Hope you read a few of my posts, while long, they are well research.
I liked the new anthem. About the other videos: “What an eyeopener to reality”. As a mother of 5 children, this worries, no it SCARES me! Either way the election turns, I know there are going to be tough times ahead for our country, a great country that will hopefully at least be holding on by the threads of our great constitution. If we stand up for what our forefathers did, in fighting for a truly free country with EVERYONE to be treated as equals…if we fight for freedom with our soldiers by believing in the potential of this great country and acting on our beliefs…by being the force for good and not evil, WE WILL SPREAD TRUE HOPE and TRUE CHANGE…the kind of hope and change that have been around since the beginning of time, not just since the beginning of Obama.
Thanks for your comment. I agree completely with what you said. It reminds me about what Larry Elder was saying the other night…
He was discussing how black families in America are coming out and saying “finally I can tell my son he can be whatever he wants to be an not lie about it”, something he had an issue with. This isn’t the 1960’s and we have seen people of all colours and faiths achieve high positions in government and business, look at Oprah for God’s sake. The point he was making was that his mother had told him years ago, when he was young, that he could be whatever he wanted to be, and she didn’t have to lie about it. This was America, he had the chance to work for what he wanted…
How has Obama changed anything? Instead of working through the system, he weaseled his way up, moving within the corrupt Chicago machine. His wife the same, using her race as a weapon against even her old school Princeton, screaming about how they were denying her “blackness”. These aren’t the transformative figures people prop them up to be. They are hollow representations of what is wrong with America.
As MLK said, to be judged by the content of character and not the colour of their skin. Well I see their character, and I don’t like it. There is no “hope and change” there, it is simply “more or the same”…
Thanks for your reply and interest/research in this country. I have quite a few ancestors that were born in Welland, Ontario.
