The Xbox One reveal was, to put it lightly, a mess. Even after all this time that has past since, people are still talking about how bad the reveal was. Wesley Yin-Poole at Eurogamer wrote an article discussing what game developers themselves think of the Xbox One and, for the most part, it’s not pretty. That does not strike me as something Microsoft should be proud of.
Out of all the responses to the Xbox One reveal, one in particular stood out from the rest. Angry Joe’s Xbox One reveal rant has become popular, that it ended up on WorldStarHopHop.com. So without further ado, the much talked about video itself.
While there is a lot which Angry Joe doesn’t talk about, it’s hard not to agree with what he has stated very clearly. If Microsoft wants to market the Xbox One as an “entertainment device” and not a “gaming console”, they’re not going to have the success they had previously with the Xbox 360. Suffice to say, television isn’t the future of gaming.
UPDATE: I figured I’d include Angry Joe’s other two rants on this subject. The first is a follow-up to this video. It maintains the same tone and readdresses many of the same issues.
The second video is very different in tone. It follows the reversal of many of the policies that gamers were upset about. Forbes’ Erik Kain has more on that story if you haven’t already heard.
